About Ben X Til

Ben is an artist living in Portland and Til is an attorney living in Chicago. Ben and Til have been friends since their sophomore year at the University of New Mexico back in 2010. Their friendship has grown stronger because of their support for one another. This co-founded company is only proof that they will remain friends for a lifetime.

Ben x Til launched June 1, 2019

Wood burning is a unique art process uncommonly found today. The process starts by separating the piece into wood burning and painting sections. Wood burning is used to create the figure then paint is applied around it. Once the idea is fully mapped out and a decision is made about whether the piece is meant to be abstract or not, details are added and the piece is cleaned up.

Captivated by the uniqueness of the technique and the interaction between the paint and wood burning, Ben was persuaded after seeing the distinctive results of using it. Complimenting Ben's naturalist approach to art, combining wood burning into his art produced a different depth to his pieces normally not found using traditional canvas.
